V5-Trap

Description
ChromoTek V5-TrapTM beads for immunoprecipitation and purification of V5-tagged proteins. The V5-Trap comprises an anti-V5-tag Nanobody/ VHH coupled to agarose and magnetic agarose beads.

Specificity
The V5-Trap binds to the V5-tag sequence GKPIPNPLLGLDST at the N-terminus, C-terminus, or internal site of the fusion protein.

About V5-tag

The V5-tag is derived from the P and V protein of the simian virus 5 (SV5, a paramyxovirus). The V5-tag is an often used peptide tag (epitope tag) to detect expression of recombinant proteins in bacteria, yeast, insect and mammalian cell systems or to purify proteins. 

The amino acid sequence of the V5-tag is GKPIPNPLLGLDST.
